Center of Research, Training and Management (CRTM)

The University will establish non-degree/diploma offering centers with the approval of the Board of Trustees. These centers will include research and development, community based services (like essential and emergency health care services, diagnostic facilities and referral services for the local communities) and other related support activities. Each Center will be encouraged to work with other partner organizations including the government departments, the development partners, the non-profit NGOs and private sector organizations. The centers will also work closely with the ‘Research, Training and Management (RTM) International’ and the ‘SHIMANTIK’ as these two NGOs are founded by Dr. Ahmed Al Kabir, who is also the founder of RTM-AKTU to provide University students and faculties with hands-on opportunities and to develop joint programs and research.

From the beginning of 2021, the first center of the University will be named as ‘Center of Research, Training and Management (CRTM)’. The primary objective of the CRTM is to create and impart knowledge through academic and applied research, disseminates acquired knowledge through conduction of studies, short-training, dissemination meetings, managing field based projects, and related printing and publications. The center will be headed by a Director. It is expected that the center will be a self-supporting entity under the overall supervision of the Vice-Chancellor. The center will mobilize resources for research activities by participating in different national and international organizations funded bids, which will also provide practical exposure to students of different departments in research and evaluation. The Center will also provide special skill development activities in research and training based on needs for both internal (including faculties and students) and external clients. Illustrative examples of activities are:

  • Research and evaluation,
  • Proposal development and report writing,
  • Organizational management, Capacity Building and quality assurance,
  • Rural development and entrepreneurship development.
